The
mission of Camp Virginia Jaycee, Inc. is to provide
outdoor education and recreation experience for persons
with special needs.
Camp
Jaycee is a facility where children and adults
with special needs can participate in games,
partake in new experiences, learn to appreciate
the outdoors and have fun.

Goals
To
contribute to the mental and physical well-being and development
of children and adults with special needs through an
organized program.
Camp Virginia Jaycee is located at the end of St. Hwy 697 / Camp Jaycee
Road in western Bedford County, Virginia.
To provide activities which develop a feeling of self confidence through
accomplishments and foster a feeling of self worth.
To promote the development of interpersonal relationships and social
skills which will help children and adults adjust happily to a
world outside their immediate family.
To provide the opportunity for respite to family members.
Activities include: Swimming, Arts & Crafts, Sports & Recreation, Fishing & Paddleboat at the Pond, Music, Horseback Riding, Playground, and Camping & Nature.

-Sheet sets for twin beds: one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, one pillow case.
-Blankets for twin beds.

-Books for library: books appropriate for children ages 3-18

- Videos and DVD’s: G and PG rated.
- Halloween costumes for all ages and sizes.
- Life jackets: coast guard approved.
- Sleeping bags.

- Rain ponchos or umbrellas.
- Supplies for arts and crafts: foam sheets or shapes, macaroni noodles, beads and string, paintbrushes, and plaster of paris.

- SWIMMING POOL: Life jackets and water guns.
- MUSIC & DRAMA: Musical instruments, costumes, CDs (contemporary music), CD players, Karaoke machines, scarves

- SPORTS: Softballs, nerf balls, bandanas, board & card games.
- SAFETY & FIRST AID: Motorola Two-Way Radios, Band-aids, Ziploc Bags, Small Paper Cup for meds, Wheelchair w/ Thick Tires, Large Toolboxes for First Aid Kits, Blankets.
- MISC: PA System, DVD player, VCR, Locks, rain ponchos/jackets, rain hats, children's/teenager's books.
- Presentations from artists: Magicians, artists, musical performers, dancers, DJs.
- New/Used Washer & Dryer, Van.
